[OOC: From here.]

The portal from her bedroom winks shut behind them, and the girl slows to a stop in the rose garden, wind blowing softly in her red hair. She doesn't look back at the man following her, or at anything in particular. Birds chip peacefully amongst the trees.

Then the portal is gone and she blinks hard in the bright sunlight, tears spilling over and down her cheeks before her hands come up to cover her face. Dropping uselessly to her knees, she begins to sob, miserable and angry.

A rather resigned sigh as he walked up beside her and knelt beside her. He could not have stayed there much longer. It was for the best, but unfortunate.

His hand slowly stroked her back.

A tilt of his head as he watches her fall. His body twitched as if to move to catch her. His voice is tense as his blue eyes watch her closely.

"Is that necessarily a good idea?"

Ishamael thought for a moment. Close observation and the lack of a strong impelling reason against suggested to him that it was the right course to take.

"As you like, I will have Loira watch you. Just in case you decide to do something... rash."

A labored sigh as he remarked somewhat irritably. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he stood up from beside her.

"You are proving the point admirably at the moment, but I would feel better with someone here to make sure you that you do not have a sudden impulse to pet the Darkhounds or the like."

Crossing his arms in front of his chest, Ishamael glanced down at the little sobbing redhead. How much he wanted to hold her, to wipe away her tears, but this, he supposed, was the best that he could do. The mention of the cat goes quietly noted.

"Very well then. I will trust you with this."

What happens if she breaks that trust goes quietly unstated.

Ishamael nods calmly at her tiny form huddled on the broken stones of the garden. He rather liked the shattered look and only had the back wall, and the flower beds restored. There was a beauty in broken things.

"We will speak later, I suppose."

With that, Ishamael walked inside his house to take care of some unfinished business involving a detailed accounting from an agent within the Hall of Servants. He would deal with Duram Sedai's inquiries personally.
