So, dudes.
I'm doing this because I said I would, and I think it's a bit necessary, because if any plot was tl;dr, it was this one. Also, bits were squicky and I completely get not wanting to read it if it's going to bother you. That said, I will not include many details of the leadup plot, since it's mainly the millicrowd bit that we're concerned with here.
So. Ishamael's plot to kill Mesaana's spy/tool Astoreth (Random Dent, who left Milliways to become a Dreadlord in the Prelude) and Asmodean's partner, the Chosen Di'aliz, went mostly according to plan. However, a little too late, Mesaana discovered something of it, and trades a diary for Astoreth's survival. Ishamael rescues and heals Astoreth, before heading to Milliways to rekidnap Shelley, now he knows she's still alive.
Out by the lake, Trillian reacts to his use of the True Power, and she, Nita Callahan and Kim Bauer jump through the portal to the Second Age after them. This was a Bad Plan, as all three women are incapacitated in approximately four seconds. Then, because Ishamael was REALLY PISSED OFF and also EVIL, he decides to have fun traumatising Nita, the least badly hurt.
Miserable, but trying to keep perspective, she makes a deal - 'her body for theirs' - in order to Heal the dangerously wounded Trillian and Kim. Maliciously, he pretends to be serious about going through with it for a bit before walking out claiming she had her chance to save her friends and failed. I am not even linking to this one.
A miserable Asmodean then arrives, and Ishamael sends Kim (once Healed and cleaned up) to keep him company, using Nita to ensure her good behaviour. Terrified, Kim reaches out to try and talk to Nita, but Asmodean senses her use of saidar and shields her. The loss of Di'aliz means he has been considerably weakened, and so he decides to convince Ishamael to give him Kim, so he can link with her instead. Kim reluctantly agrees rather than let Ishamael discover she is a Channeller. Asmodean, linked with a panicky Kim, sneaks about in the dark to steal some copies of Ishamael's papers, because the Forsaken are nothing if not opportunistic. Among them, Kim finds some rather interesting information about the woman she believed was her teacher, Selae Sedai... (A Wind in Dry Grass) Later on, when Kim returns, there is a certain amount of Doom when Asmodean goes to Shayol Ghul, and Nita feels it, but eventually it abates.
Shelley, meanwhile, takes a bath. Unfortunately, the dress given to her to wear has had a firetrap woven into it by a malicious Mesaana, which triggers while she is alone in the room. What follows is a very peculiar out-of-body experience, or a hallucination, or something. We're not saying. This is cut short when Ishamael arrives and Heals her in the nick of time. And being him, is very, very creepy. Once they are sorted out a bit, comes the talking about Kim, Nita and Trillian. Shelley is adamant that he let them go. He points out how much easier and safer it would be for him if he just killed them. Shelley panics and makes a possibly unwise choice. She stays, and convinces them she wants to, if he lets them go safely. He smirks. Well, not really, but you can just feel the aura of smug.
Unfortunately, though pleased about it, he refuses to leave it at that. Ishamael demands that Shelley swear not to cause trouble to his plans, in particular with the other Chosen. In return, she asks that he have nothing more to do with any of her friends or family. With the proviso that he can if it has absolutely nothing to do with her, he agrees. The Oath is made binding and marks them both - in the form of a black mark on the third finger of their left hands shaped like a snake biting its own tail. Ishamael is a bastard like that.
Next morning, the others are gathered. Shelley manages to convince Nita and Kim that she wants to remain (and more importantly, convinces Ishamael that they are convinced.) Leaving Astoreth in charge of Kim, Nita and Trillian's departure, Ishamael leaves to meet with the other Forsaken. Kim, Suppressed, knocks Astoreth out before the Dreadlord can react. Quickly, they decide to take her with them and after a brief and worrying struggle with a rather familiar voice in Nita's head, she manages to sever her from the Shadow. Kim, adamant that whether Shelley wants to or not, she should come with them, goes and re-re-kidnaps her, before linking with Trillian to portal them all back to Milliways.
And then we all passed out.
